We arrived at Singapore's Changi airport at midnight on the 21st of November, exactly 7 months to the day since I left with the news of mum's diagnosis. Mum's happy and settled in her new unit and has great carers and friends close at hand. Everything to do with mum's move and the sale of the house is finished, and everything in place.
We were exhausted, depleted, and completely worn out, but so glad to be together and back to our own home at last.
Mya walked into her room and said "It's so nice to be home Mummy".
Spent the first day determined not to hit the deck running, so I emptied 3 of the 4 suitcases, fixed the clocks, phone chips (Australian number dead now) also the computer settings to change to Singapore - PLEASE STILL USE THE .co.uk address - I know it's confusing, BUT IT'S A "FOLLOW ME" EMAIL ADDRESS and works around the world. Also my Skype follows me too, so if I'm no on line and you want to talk, hang on and it will be forwarded to my mobile - free to you.
I chased up the agent and will be house hunting as early as Monday when Mya goes back to school.
Our container of 35 boxes from Melbourne will be arriving by slow boat so we only have to unpack it into our new home. I can't wait it has my new sewing table and accidently all my sewing accessories - but friends here have volunteered to lend me theirs. So kind.
Well it feels like writing the end of a story, but the story fortunately is not over. Although this blog started off as mum's blog, it'll continue now with our life as the main feature. Please feel free to drop in and read any time.
Lots of love Miranda
Love from all of us.
